Mugs pied stilt and grandpa
Our newest happy mugs... I have never seen anything like the pied stilt before, it looks like a CL design rather than one that has been bought in.

I have had one of those mugs for many years and have asked EVERYONE if they know who those little creatures are - no luck. I imagined they were some 1980s TV series but it would appear not.

Another stacking mug with bleeding glaze
This is a strange pattern, it looks like thumb prints that have bled in the glaze

Well, I now have my very own CL stacking mug!
Strange glaze.
I have also put together a second stacking mug montage.

Four Digit Mugs to show Jeremy.
I took out the chipped ones and left out the fork scraped and several others.
It's not a clear pic, but hopefully it will do ....?

Polar Bear large mug
I thought I had seen this before but have not yet located it on a cup/mug link.
Edits to say I see this shape in the rattling the cups topic: between the fatherpopdad and the Papel. Same handle as the Papel, but way different body. Slightly smaller volume.
Made in New Zealand at TOP. Big mug: 300ml: 9cm H x 8 OD
I've unravelled the the design here.

The handle on this mug caught my eye yesterday so I bought it for 50c. Number is 1109 with a dot at the end. It feels almost like the glaze is vitrified.

Re: Show us your mugs .... Crown Lynn of course ;)
Oh wow Thelma that is a real surprise to see that shape.
I've never seen it before and the records say:
1109 - Coffee Mug [was Titian 523] first made in 28.1.71 at the Titian Factory
So that will allow this mug to go into both the Crown Lynn and Titian Galleries.
Thank you so much

You are welcome, sorry about the picture quality, light was all wrong today and I was rushing too much as well.

white as
Thelma,
Does the glaze look the same white as on my shamrock mug?

Thick, crisp, cool white.

Re: Show us your mugs .... Crown Lynn of course ;)
The glaze does seem similar Jeremy. It is not the usual thin glaze that crazes so easily. My Apollo set was very susceptible to heat and knocks, so am quite familiar with how that reacts. In fact most colourglaze ware was a bit delicate I think. The glaze on this mug is thicker. It had a blow to the top edge at some time but only has a couple of marks instead of a whole chip falling off.

Re: Show us your mugs .... Crown Lynn of course ;)
Thelma,
I talked about this with Ev today at the Crown Lynn "Tea Party" and she suggested it looked like a tin glaze.
My brother has our family's C17 tin glaze plates (worth some thousands of POUNDS) so I am familiar with it.
The glaze on my mug is thick and doesn't look as though it would ever craze either.
Keep your eyes peeled for the 1151 mug Ev will be posting, a stunner from Val's collection.

Not alien, but a dapper man...
At first this looked like an alien to me, but on closer inspection I saw that it was a man with a moustache, a bow tie and a hat on his head. He has funny ears .... ^_^
I found this at the Sallies in New Lynn and got to meet Robert who visits the site as a reference resource

Found a teal Jumbo and a Smurf Mug today YAY!!
The only listing in the Database that I can find is:
Smurf Q11 and Q11/5
I will have to check this out in the Deco Advices.
Does anyone else have a Smurf pattern name or number?

A big one
I don't think we've see this one before.
Big Mug. Same shape as the Papels, I think.
95mm H x 82 OD. The line half an inch below the top is glaze overlap.
This country scene is not the same as on the castware 1215 "Countryside Mug" but reminded me of it.
Unwound...
