mug dated 1990
3050 Commonwealth Games mug with Crown Lynn advertising.
Interesting that this is dated 1990 when Crown Lynn folded in 1989.

Re: Show us your mugs .... Crown Lynn of course ;)
The Kiwi are jogging right?
There is a sporting series and one is jogging .... I will have to check the others.
Edits to say I found it -
Kiwi Sports Mugs -Rugby, Cricket, Golf, Jogging these are all on 3051 mugs,
so this will have a pattern number and I think we have others around as well !!!
Kiwi Sports Mug - Jogging d84446 and was made in 1986.

I imagine they would have been produced well in advance of the games

Indeed, but quite curious nevertheless.
What a waste of advertising when the company has already gone belly-up!

Re: Show us your mugs .... Crown Lynn of course ;)
This rang bells immediately I saw it .... found it in the 1988 Catalogue.
Mugs for Males
D.84000 INDOOR GAMES COLLECTION (6)
0966/1 is the set number which consists of a Mug and Coaster.
The pack contained 6 sets.
So we have a pattern number, but not a shape number and the records stop at around 1984 so these won't show up in them. At least we have a pattern number and I wonder what the other 5 patterns look like?
Thanks Kat
Edits to add that the Portage site have Backgammon, Chess and Darts and this snooker makes 4, so still 2 more to find. One other and Crosswords!

Cards Mug
They are on a different mug shape but would this Cards Mug & the Dice Mug of Thelmas(first pic in this thread) be part of the indoor games series above or is this another series of Games Patterns? they are all black & red on white print.

Re: Show us your mugs .... Crown Lynn of course ;)
Kat the Indoor Games collection includes a coaster like that Backgammon set and I would say that they will all be that shape as well. There could be a cards one for sure.
Re: Show us your mugs .... Crown Lynn of course ;)
Wondering if anyone had seen or heard of a CL mug featuring a large image of the All Black Don Clarke and some history of his career on the back. No markings but looks similar to the Lion NZ Whitbread earlier in this post. Cheers

Ev wrote:Found a teal Jumbo and a Smurf Mug today YAY!!
The only listing in the Database that I can find is:
Smurf Q11 and Q11/5
I will have to check this out in the Deco Advices.
Does anyone else have a Smurf pattern name or number?
Ev, do you have a saucer for your teal jumbo?
I can get one from Jill if you want.

some 3050s including sign language
I think the first and second are new but I think I have seen the sign language one before. As I have just acquired some nude lady mugs to go with my recent tiki mug purchases (they seem to fit the definitions) I could not resist this one from CL on TM.
nude lady, NZ flags, sign language
The flags mug is a bit faded but the other two are perfect.
Notes: the colour of the nude lady mug in the photo is reasonably accurate: it is apricot. I have a coffee jug in the same colour. The sign language mug is a pale beige speckle. Kat thought the flag one was worn but I said faded. To be honest I haven't examined it to find which is correct. Tomorrow.
Ev Edits to add that the Sign Language mugs were made for the 1989 World Deaf Games held in Christchurch.

Re: Show us your mugs .... Crown Lynn of course ;)
Thanks Jeremy, I've seen a few different nude lady mugs, also the sign language one, but not the NZ Flag one. I've added them to the No Names Pattern Gallery.
3050 way different
Couldn't resist this odd glaze.
(Made in New Zealand on base)
I'm curious about the process: is this a double dip in blue glaze?
