Quick question: when is a mug called a coffee can? When I see that, I think about coffee in a tin, even though I never saw that. The mind takes us to strange places.

I can't find any reference to Coffee Cans in the Crown Lynn descriptions.
They favour the 'straight sided mug' description.
People have been referring to them as cans for many years, probably in reference to their straight sides.
