Crown Lynn cup, wine jug and sips, lidded pot
A checkered cup 1101:
Wine jug with 6 sips, just glorious. Only the jug is marked and, alas, not very clearly:

Hannele the wine bottle and sips look like they are made by Mike Truebridge.

I need to research that potter. The mark on the jug does nor resemble the one in the gallery (which is the same as on NZ Potters Inc). Isn't this set wonderful?

Re: Crown Lynn cup, wine jug and sips, lidded pot
I do the best that I can darls and damned if I can't find any similar work, though I know I've seen heaps, so perhaps I'm barking up the wrong pottery tree ...?
Re: Crown Lynn cup, wine jug and sips, lidded pot
Sure looks like Mike's work, and the mark looks like his but partly obscured.

Yes, it totally looks like his work as I have seen it on this site. The glaze and the colours are really similar. I probably need to check the mark again, just to make sure myself.

Yes they are shape 3024 cups, there are quite a few different patterns on Apollo plates, its a great dinner set to mix and match. Plain cups are a great start!

Crown Lynn - Cloister, Design Line, Herald and cups
Cloister plates on a honey coloured base, a richer colour than the photograph in the gallery, 5 lunch plates and 5 side plates:
Design Line cups and saucers as well as bowls, in the same colour way. They must have been meant to be used together with Cloister ceramics:
And, in the same lot, 6 Herald dinner plates:
Dark brown cups, what is that shape of the handle called?
And finally the Titian 1101:

Re: Crown Lynn cup, wine jug and sips, lidded pot
The 1101 is Crown Lynn as it as four digits and was made after the takeover.
The odd handle is a 3041

Design Line has one more line than Cloister, so it's not a match in that regard.
There are Design Line matching cups, saucers, bowls, sides, dinners etc etc
Thanks Hannele

3041? Great, I will put that in my inventory document.
Yes, I realise Design Line and Cloister are different designs, but I love how the colour ways and the bands are the same, so that you can mix and match, with people being none the wiser, unless they turn the plates over to check the names.

Re: Crown Lynn cup, wine jug and sips, lidded pot
I can't for the life of me think which pattern those brown 3041 cups belong to !!!!
Re: Crown Lynn cup, wine jug and sips, lidded pot
I have not come across the 3041 cups in that glaze. Unless the photo lighting is showing it different to real life. If that makes sense.
Nearest would be cork glaze on the pattern sundowner. But it's not that.
Is it like the pioneer glaze or rusticana glaze? I can't tell . Janice

Re: Crown Lynn cup, wine jug and sips, lidded pot
The colour in the photographs is pretty close to the real one. So quite a dark brown, speckled glaze, not the same all over the cup. Darker at the top and one of the cups has an irregularity, a spot in a different colour, reminiscent of Temuka Riverstone, but with a glossy glaze.JanPots wrote:I have not come across the 3041 cups in that glaze.
