Re: Waikari Pottery - Marie and Peter Dawson
Hannale I am wondering if this actually Waimea Pottery. I have looked at their marks in the database and this looks different - also the cups don't look like Waimea's style as far as I am aware. What do you think? I know very little about studio pottery so I could easily be wrong about this.

I know what you mean, Maryr. If it was just the one potter working there, it would be way clearer. But it was a collective, all potters doing their own thing.
The pieces differ, clay as well as form as well as glaze. Marks differ as well, some stamped, some inscribed. I believe this to be Waimea because of the quality and because the mark is a connected W and P.
Mind you, I am open to corrections.

Woohoooo!!!
Thanks Hannele, as I was keeping any eye on that topic on Facebook, but didn't see the sticker until now.
I will add this mark to the Gallery with full confidence now and change the heading of this topic.

I love supplying new marks (and other info) to this site. It makes me feel quite knowledgeable! But most of all, it makes me feel helpful.
