Brian Gartside

Brian has been making platters for many years.
The decoration on his platters are ever changing and extremely creative.
I have a couple of his older ones.

I bought this off eBay recently


with this paper label on the back:

This Brian Gartside platter was given to me nearly 15 years ago, in 1999 I think. 27.5 cm square.

Brian has been glazing slip cast ware that he has purchased for several years now.

This must be Brian Gartside too as this small plate looks alot like the platters of Ev's above. 16cmd  only marked Ramarama NZ  

Yes it's definitely his Kat.  I visited his studio at Ramarama in the late 1970's.

A great find today of a Brian Gartside dish and it is one from the time that he bought blanks and decorated them.
I never thought to ask his source, but do recall him being grumpy about comments that he had heard about him buying blanks ......
This also has another mark that I hadn't seen.

This appears to be an early one and has his Ramarama stamp from the 1970's.
