Thanks to Gary for letting me photo the kettle. He has a significant Temuka collection including other wonderful NZ pottery.
Marked Temuka Ware Speedee on the base in handwritten script, which was used in the Arthur Toplis era.
To be clear I think Speedee is a NZ company run by H. C. Urlwin Ltd and different/separate from the Australian Speedie. Who knows which one came first. Speedee operated in Christchurch and had a branch in Wellington.
