In the absence of good eggcup records for Crown Lynn sometimes a process of elimination can help.
The above site has alot of the eggcups we see on trademe as Crown Lynn but are claimed on this site to be English. This includes many of the Nursery Rhyme ones, Little Bo-Peep, Goldilox and the Three Bears and Mother Hubbard.
The King Bucket one actually features in a book by an avid Egg Cup Collector and is stated to be English.

Re: Old King Cole / King Bucket
So does that make the New Lynn Library Crown Lynn Exhibition incorrect then?
As they have an Old King Cole/King Bucket eggcup on display.

OR if you put two King Bucket eggcups next to each other and they're different sizes and weights and the clay bodies aren't the same then....
Are the English ones marked? And do the people attributing them to an English pottery explain how they've reached that conclusion?

Re: Old King Cole / King Bucket
Not to add any more confusion, but I came across this auction on Trade Me. I am not sure the explanation is accurate re the bases, as I have never seen an English one. However, the one I have which I thought was possibly a CL is also flat on the base and unmarked. It looks exactly the same as the ones in the auction. I would so LOVE to get my hands on an English one to try and sort this out. I am temped to buy these ones anyway and begin a search for an English one for comparison.

Re: Old King Cole / King Bucket
When I noticed that auction my first thoughts were that the glaze looked very Crown Lynnish......
Heather has a vast number of eggcups and many she bought off Trademe as Crown Lynn, when in fact they were English.
