Re: Heather and I are having a NZ Pottery Big Day Out on Thursday!!
Yes I do indeed don't I
What a HUGE day!!
My work suffered today as I found myself constantly drifting back to yesterday....
so much to sink in ..... and around a 100 pics to work on and post when I get a chance!!!!
Just to give you an idea of what is in store:
From the collection of Manos - a wonderfully warm and generous man!
Commercial Potteries -
R.O. Clark
Titian - Forestware - Aquila - Sherwood - Orzel.
Temuka
Crown Lynn - Swan - Early Lion - Miniature handpotted
Benhar
Green Gables
Possible Luke Adams
Studio Pottery-
BERNARD LEACH !!!!
Michael Lucas/Jill Totty
JOHN GREEN !!!!
BARRY BRICKELL !!!
Doris Lusk.... though her piece may be here already?
A beautiful large mystery pot with marks that have been covered with glaze!
An interesting figurine of a kinda nude artist?
The info we found for Crown Lynn Tableware patterns at the Auckland Museum library is endless ...
possibly thousands of pattern names!
These cannot be reproduced without the permission of the Auckland Museum
so I will use them for personal reference.
There is a huge file showing the actual patterns ..... enormous!
This may have to be looked at from time to time to identify patterns.
We checked out all of the archives at the Museum - 3 boxes
and managed to get through them all ..... one folder at a time x Heather and Ev!
I loved the folder with Crown Lynn photos and kept looking over Heather's shoulder -
might check that out again one day.
The Antique shop was awesome..... but very expensive
so we just drooled and admired and left it at that.
A fantastic unbelievable day!
Cheers Ev

That huge file at the Museum showing actual patterns that Crown Lynn used, keeps playing on my mind!
After the dust has settled with moving I'm going to have to check it out.
I wish I had a photographic memory ....
