While we were on holiday in the South Island we stayed with Tom and Colleen Walker, who we worked with in an apple packhouse eight years ago.  Tom casually mentioned that he and his late wife Beth had made and sold ceramics - and it turned out he and Beth made Forest Ware!

I interviewed Tom and photographed the photographic catalogues his daughter generously lent us. The pics aren't perfect, but they give us a fairly complete record of the Forest Ware range. Unfortunately there are too many to put on this site but my blog gives quite a few examples.

Here is a link to my blog.

Meanwhile, please enjoy this cluster of lovely little owls, which Tom has kept for 25 years. The largest is a bare 4 cm. All hand decorated by Beth.

And here are Tom and Beth - back in the day.
