Re: Zana's brown Air Nz DC10 dishes....
My No1 Opshop had a pile of these brown Air New Zealand dishes in stock today.
There were ovular shaped dinner dishes with sides....
smaller ovular shaped plates
sugar bowl sized dessert dishes
and smaller of the above...... heh I can remember these even!
They all had the Air New Zealand insignia on them .... but
only the small ovular plates had the Crown Lynn stamp.... [I got one of those]
the dessert dishes and the smaller round ones had the Made in New Zealand stamp on them...
the rest had Top Flight ...... Japan...... Air New Zealand.
I must say that the Jap ones were the better quality....
could they have been made by Noritake?
Forgot to say that some had the same markings as Zana's have..... lots of letters and numbers.

....and at last here is a pic of the one that I got!
This design for Air New Zealand was introduced in 1976.
The backstamp which I neglected to take a photo of has a crown -
[Air NZ's insignia] Air New Zealand
Produced by
Crown Lynn Potteries
Pat No ?10 .... not sure and must check that out!

Re: Zana's brown Air Nz DC10 dishes....
I was delighted to find this Air New Zealand dish recently, as Crown Lynn show the flight number details in their records, so now I can identify each piece. I had no idea what all of the letters and numbers related to before, so chose not to get pieces that I saw with these on them. This is a Small Casserole Dish shape number 8518 that belonged to the B474 flight TEBO179YX and was made from 1980.
Zana's square dish above is a DC10 Dish - flight TEB003FX and was first made in 1972 with the shape number of 8515.

Re: Zana's brown Air Nz DC10 dishes....
Thanks for enlightening me about the numbers on the Air New Zealand oval dishes. I have a swag of these and had often wondered what those numbers meant. Temuka Pottery also put out a dish the same shape, mostly white ones I have found.
