This was to become the standard Hospital range as per Crown Lynn's Ceramics Summer magazine 1978.

Will have to go back over my Museum files to find it's number .....

Hey there narna
Can you please check the numbers on the backstamps on your Hospital ware as it may help prove that the number is the year of manufacture

re Hospital ware 1978
Here is my sample a dinner plate 9 inches (228mm) dia with a black backstamp 85
the exact same style as my RNZAF plate BS 87 that started this search. However the plate shape is different in detail as well as size.
I also have other 85's 2 saucers heavy plain white and a small oval entree plate brown glaze similar to Pioneer
Great to e able to put a name/ use to this decoration, I have a number of egg cups also.

Right then I did get this wrong and I've worked this out now .....
the 732 is the same shape as the 776
and the 733 is the same shape as the 760 sugar bowl.
Thanks to the Crown Lynn modellers notes from the Museum, which actually state this!
Re: Hospital Ware 1978
In my wanderings today I came across a jug that appears to match the hospital ware range. very heavily glaze obscured base, you can see where 'made in new zealand' is, without being able to read it and also a raised number 20 on base, quite clearly. Shape looks like a 715. Is there any record of what jug/s were in the hospital range? Jug a reasonable size about 16-18cm tall at a guess. I didn't really have $5 spare or I would have grabbed it!

Re: Hospital Ware 1978
The Museum notes for the Hospital Ware mention a 715/20 jug -
also a 715/01 and 715/05.
also a 715/01 and 715/05.
Re: Hospital Ware 1978
Thanks! Presumably it'll be the 715/20 then - are the second number sizing numbers? - the 20 etc

Re: Hospital Ware 1978
Yes, many of the jugs come is several sizes.
I imagined the /20 to be much bigger than 16.5cm.
Pic is too small to see the numbers ..... they show up to /5 [I think]

Re: Hospital Ware 1978
Owwww another shape that I haven't seen before!
No idea of the number, but will enjoy the challenge of finding it.
It should be in the Vitrified ware .... somewhere under my nose!

re Hospital Ware 1978
Which Twin has The Toni as the shampoo adverts used to say.
Saw this today in my local Sally Shop and plunged a whole dollar so that you guys could see how close it is to the Crown Lynn Hospital cup . OK the handle is different but the shape is so close with the straight sides and the neat little cove at the base.
No marks whatsoever/ 87mm Dia X 65 High. Looks as though it has never been used
a very nice cup.
