"multra odern" ???
kiwi goblet mug
I cannot be sure what this backstamp says but I suspect that it is damaged and it should say "Ultra Modern", unless there is a joke there and it is actually intended to say "Multra Odern".
Anyway, this looks like commercial pottery rather than a hobby piece.
I kinda like it.

"multra odern" ???
Oh wow, good to see there is some Multra Odern still around. I designed these in 1997-99 with Peter Collis, the large mug was from the second design release, and the demitasse teacup has a matching saucer. In the end, they were made by Ceramco for us.

Re: "multra odern" ???
Thanks so much for stopping by Miss_Anna
I would like to ask where would these have been made by Ceramco please?
Crown Lynn would have been long gone by then.
Thanks

Re: "multra odern" ???
Hi EV, Crown Lynn was long gone. At first, I slip cast, fired and glazed these at Collis Studios. As orders ramped up, we got the slip casting and bisque firing done at Kermiko, glazing at Collis Studios. Peter Collis sailed with the guy who was running Ceramco (I think it was called that) out at the New Lynn Plant; at the same time, I designed some patterns for Temuka, a few went into production. Anyway, I remember going out to the New Lynn plant in 1999 and met an English man who had something to do with the production out there. I'm sorry I can't remember his name; he had come from the midlands with a history in the English pottery plants. He gave me the contact details for the potteries as I was off on my OE. Ceramco made Multra Odern for us from mid 1999 until 2000/1? I used to get my royalty cheques.

Terra Ceramics
Steiner Ceramics
to name a few.
Really interested to find out about the patterns you designed for Temuka and I will add a link to the Temuka Gallery for you to check out
