Steenstra Brick and Pipe clay vase from Te Papa
This lovely vase was purchased for the Te Papa collection in 2004 and attributed to Arthur and Olive Rhodes, which was 5 years before Jim Drummond's famous auction.
I thought it was significant to add this information here.

Hi Ev, but when was the database updated? It would be interesting to see if it was originally purchased as a Rhodes or not? The mystery continues!

Re: Steenstra Brick and Pipe clay vase from Te Papa
Rosemary Deane the curator at Te Toi Uku asked Te Papa for information regarding this vase and there was none to confirm the maker, so Te Papa have taken the word Rhodes off the record.
I'm also trying to remove the word Rhodes from posts until something concrete turns up to confirm the maker.
