Very large pottery bowl,any idea who made this? It was made by Tim Jessep.

I bought this bowl recently,it is quite large at 38cm wide x 7cm high.The only thing resembling a potters mark is seen in 2nd photo,any ideas?

This is stunning and was made by a competent potter. I can't tell anything from that mark, but the marvellous decoration may be one way of identifying the maker.

Thanks Ev,it is nice and the photo doesn't do it justice.I too thought maybe somebody would know the potter by the style of work as I am sure I have seen similar use of glaze,colour and style on other smaller pottery before.

Many thanks to Gillian for letting us know that this bowl was made by Tim Jessop, Tukurua, Golden Bay, Nelson.
His son is potting too now and has a similar mark but I cannot locate it at the moment.

Can someone please confirm the spelling of Jessop please?

A Nelson Mail article from 2012 includes a Tim Jessep potting in Lookout Road, Parapara stuff.co.nz/nelson-mail/news/motueka-golden-bay/6213168/Artys-the-way-as-you-travel-the-Bay ; a merch page for the Mussel Inn at Onekaka has mugs made by local potter Tim Jessep and on the White Pages website there's a current listing for Tim Jessep, Lookout Road, Parapara, Takaka Area.
