For gallery Benhar gravy thing (probably)
This is 12.5 across, excluding the handle. I can only think that it must have been to strain gravy. It has a triangular hole in the base, and a handle to hold onto. Any other theories?

Re: For gallery Benhar gravy thing (probably)
I don't have a lot of experience with Benhar/McSkimmings, but what pots I do have use a distinctive muddy coloured clay, not a white body like this. Hopefully someone can shed some light on this piece ....

Hmm, I think gravy would clog this up straight away! perhaps a weird shaving mug?

Ev this is a slightly different glaze (more reddish and vibrant) but looks like a similar base clay to my Benhar items. We are having a pottery group gathering next week so I will take it along for commment from our panel of experts.
Finn this thing has holes in the top which would sieve out the lumps, and then the sieved gravy could gloop out that bottom hole - just a thought, as Benhar made those dripping jars with similar holes.
Watch this space!
