Re: Steven Scholefield Rocket Pottery Himitangi
It is with deep respect that I want to let you know that Stephen Scholefield of Rocket Pottery has passed away.
His legacy will live on through his pottery of course and that is something to cherish.
His property at 854 State Highway 1 Himatangi is up for sale and it would be an amazing place to visit, especially to all potters.
Many thanks to sharktooth for letting us know.
The pottery is listed with Ray White and can be found here:

Steve Scholefields Rocket Pottery Complex for sale
The amazing property on the market of Steves is how he left it except for his chargers so would be a great place for a co-operative of potters to buy and keep the kilns hot. There is a walk-through video on the real estate listing page. Awesome complex.
I have heard his stamped chargers are going to be or have been taken to Hunterville to Junk and Disorderly to sell but that information is not confirmed. I am a huge fan of Theo Schoon & Steve both and enjoyed time I spent out at his house at Himatangi junction.
Steven SCHOLEFIELD Obituary
SCHOLEFIELD,
Steven John Reynolds:
28.10.1954 - 15.5.2022
Dear Steve died at Palmerston North Hospital on May 15, 2022. Loved son of the late Melva and Scho, brother of Shelley, brother-in-law of Rich and uncle of Steph and George. Thank you to all our friends for giving us huge support and kindness. Our sincere thanks to all the hospital staff who showed great skill and compassion in caring for him in the last week of his life. A private cremation was held for Steve – a very creative spirit is now at rest. Special thanks to Kathleen, Ian and Christopher. A memorial service is planned for a future date.
