What shape number Help required
I had this recorded in my notes as shape no 40 but on checking it appears not.I can't see it in the gallery & I'm planning to put it on Trade me and don't want to mislead in anyway. It is 8 cm high and 36 cm D at it's widest point.Any help much appreciated.

Re: What shape number Help required
Hmmm the only info I have for a Shape 40 is 7 1/2" and I would say this is the width.
We are missing 9 shapes in the early 1 to 99 numbers, perhaps this is one of those?
The top matches the Shape 26 to my eyes, but the body doesn't.
Your vase is very beautiful and even the glaze is outstanding and I don't think I've seen those colours together before chef.
Are there any clues on the base, for example fraction numbers?
Does the clay match up with Ambrico clay?

No marks but the clay looks the same as another vase I have which is marked

I rather think it was on a certain defunct "collecters forum" you know the one I mean. I've had the vase for years.Looks & feels like CL.

Yes I know the one you mean, but they only had a small amount of the info compared to what we have. I'm very tuned into the shapes and don't usually take long to work them out, however this one puzzles me.
No doubt the collectors on Trade Me will be able to let you know what they think.
It is very beautiful indeed and good luck. Cheers Ev
Edits to add that I kept an eye on their Shape Guide and at last count they had
61 shapes in the 1 to 99 Ambrico early shapes and we have 91. So a considerable difference thanks to devoted members and the Sparrow photos that are online. They also had some of the shape photos on Facebook but they have gone as well now.
