Those two Rosemarie Brittain birds are treasures indeed !!
As is that Smisek mug
The others seem familiar, but I would need to see the marks to tell who made them.
I love the jug

trinket boxes mark (and yes I'm a bit excited about this)
Jug mark - would you call this a fatso style or not quite? Also excitement!
teacup mark (with attached saucer - I have two of these)
The vase is Henrietta Hume

The very finely potted raku fired bowl has no mark but it screams fabulous, though my photo does not do it justice

Re: Some real treasures! Jim Greig, Piet Radford, Rosemarie Brittain, Warren Tippet, Mirek Smisek, Henrietta Hume, Jean Hastedt
OMG !!!! Did Jim Grieg make both of those first two pieces??
..... I'm so jealous
The jug mark name doesn't jump out at me, but crikey I should know it as that is just gorgeous! Barry Brickell made the Fatso jugs and this isn't one of his beauties.
There are too many lines for that crisscross mark to be Barry Hockenhull's, so who do you think made that one?
You really recognise a great pot when you see it Cat. I'm always impressed with your finds.
I'm going to have to add those marks to the Mystery Marks Gallery, unless you know them Cat.

Thanks Ev, Yes, TWO Jim Greig trinket boxes... the rounder one is in perfect condition, the pointier one has a few little chips on the lid and rim. Â
I had the same thought re the criss-cross lines mark having too many lines for Hockenhull and have no idea who it might be, very quirky pieces though
Here's another photo of the jug mark.. the dark vertical lines are part of the glaze, the mark is quite heavily covered with glaze, but it's three raised dots in an oval surround, which looks like Warren Tippet's mark to me

Oh yes it's a Tippett and I see it now as I have one of his in that shape ...
He is another sought after potter Cat ..... I can't bring myself to use his jug, just admire it ....

Yay! I thought so, but wasn't 100%, unfortunately it has damage along the edge of one side of the handle (and while I don't usually buy damaged pots, I made an exception because it's my first Tippet pot and I love love love it - and I thought $6 entirely reasonable). Does yours have the lovely double impressions at the top of the handle?

Re: Some real treasures! Jim Greig, Piet Radford, Rosemarie Brittain, Warren Tippet, Mirek Smisek, Henrietta Hume, Jean Hastedt
Yes indeed it does Cat and those are thumb marks from pulling the handle. Very exciting and mine has a glaze miss on one side, but I got it anyway as I didn't have any of his work then.
Cat I've worked out who made the cups and saucers !!!!
Piet Radford and the mark is on page 103 of the Marks Book.
I will add it to the Gallery as it is very different to the one that Marcus sent us.
I don't know anything about Piet, but the name popped into my mind and wallah

Wow! That's great, thanks Ev! I'm not familiar with Piet Radford, or his work, so will do a bit of research now

I also picked up a Jean Hastedt jar
and this cute little unmarked bottle vase, which has a nicer shape than appears in the photo

Re: Some real treasures! Jim Greig, Piet Radford, Rosemarie Brittain, Warren Tippet, Mirek Smisek, Henrietta Hume, Jean Hastedt
I have to say that is a very unusual Smisek mug and very desirable
Re: Some real treasures! Jim Greig, Piet Radford, Rosemarie Brittain, Warren Tippet, Mirek Smisek, Henrietta Hume, Jean Hastedt
Indeed. Certainly by me! Thanks Cat-a-lat.

I got the Smisek book out of the library yesterday and have been enjoying it in bursts.
Plate 40 is a yunomi with colour and pattern very similar to the mug above, described as
"Te Horo, 1990s. Cobalt, manganese and copper salt glaze ..."
Plate 50, a bowl, less so:
"Te Horo, mid 1980s. Cobalt, manganese and iron salt glaze on porcelain ..."

Oh Wow! I had no idea, it's only the second piece of Mirek's work that I have, it's not quite perfect, with two tiny chips, but such lovely colours and I do love the wavy design

I'm actually considering selling one of the trinket boxes .. ends meeting and all that.. if I can bear to part with one.. and decide which one .. one is perfect condition and the other has two small chips on underside of lid .. but I think I like the form of that one better .. though I like the glaze colour of the other... argh!
