Re: van der Putten mug ...
This matches a bottle and a jug that I have of his. Not sure what you mean Jeremy when you say "This sweet little mug is the first on the forum with only Andrew's mark."
I would say this is from the early 1970's.

Ev,
The only other mugs (rather than other shapes) I found on the forum with AvdP's mark are those also marked Len Castle or Willie Kuiper.
Thanks for giving me an idea of date. I thought it must have been about then.

Re: van der Putten mug ...
Oh ok Jeremy, though there are plenty of other shapes with just that mark on them, so I was a little confused ....
Re: van der Putten mug ...
On Wednesday I found three of these great AvdP espresso mugs at Mt Albert Rd SPCA, but being so shocked by Auckland mug prices (and with the ongoing problem of too much stuff) I paid for just one at $3. I had a homemade espresso Thursday evening and thoroughly enjoyed it.
75mm H, usual AvdP cross mark at base of handle
On one of the three, not this one, the mark was turned 45 degrees so it looked a bit like Steve Fullmer mark.
This mug has a turned base.
Does this ash glaze indicate earlier work?
