There are many items on Papers Past regarding Jova Rancich including a death notice and obituary to several adverts and a request for a building permit to extend his pottery in 1939.  There are also several ads placed by his wife Vera asking for boys to work in the pottery from 1944 and even one for a girl.
This article however stands out as it was in the New Zealand Herald 16th July 1935 and is about this fascinating potter at the Winter Exhibition.

Hmmm when I read that I thought of his amphora shapes as Egyptian designs.
