Another swallow.. is this Crown Lynn?
This swallow has a different number from any I can find on the site...looks like 199. Is it Crown Lynn or someone else?

Perhaps your bird is a 561 Maryr?

Ah. Yes.... just a matter of looking at it the right way up! This is a photo from my files, so I don't have my hand on the real thing to check but you are right I think.

re Crown Lynn swallow
That is definitely a Crown Lynn swallow. They have the slot for the pin to go in to so they hang the right way round around the plaque.

Re: Crown Lynn Swallows 547-1-2-3
Ok so Crown Lynn made two sets of birds. One set flutters around the 555 Rose Wall Plaque like this one from Dollcrown -
http://newzealandpottery.forumotion.net/t3687-crown-lynn-bird-set
There are actually four of these birds, 560, 561, 562 and 563 and you can see them in the Crown Lynn Shapes Gallery. In 1980 Crown Lynn made two of these birds using the four digit numbers - 2140 Dove - [was 560] and 2141 Dove - [was 562]
Who are we to argue if they are doves, but look like swallows
The 555 plaques were made in two different colours, see this post from HeatherT -

Crown Lynn also made a set of three different sized Swallows - 547/1/2/3. They are just recorded as Wall Birds and you can check these out in the first two posts of this topic above. Perhaps these are Crown Lynn's version of the three flying wall ducks?
