Possible Peter Lowry Sauce Bottle
This bottle has P stamped on the base and I'm hoping that it was made by Peter Lowry. The sturdy handle is just like those on the wine sets and made by the same hand and glazed in the same Beach colours.
This Peter Lowry is a very competent potter!
This is a wine set that I saw last week ...

12cmh Vase
I was wondering where to put this little vase, that maybe by him too, its well made & beautifully glazed green & dark brown.

Kat, the vase sure looks like all the little green Lowry pieces on my kitchen window cill.
Curious frill on top: I haven't seen that before.
Ev, the glaze on the bottle is very bright. It may be because there is such a large area of pure green. On the little pieces the green and brown glazes tend to run together more.

Re: Possible Peter Lowry Sauce Bottle
The variances in colour could be from thicker or thinner application of the glaze, or fired in a hotter or colder part of the kiln. I do think it is the same glaze.

Re: Possible Peter Lowry Sauce Bottle
Oh wow!!!! That is done in the same way as the one that Daniel Steenstra did for Eva Beach. Perhaps he showed Paul this technique? There is a pot like this on the NZPotters site asking if it was made by Daniel Steenstra as they have been told it was.
Re: Possible Peter Lowry Sauce Bottle
Found it !!! Why do people refer to Peter Sinclair as a proficient potter when he was a trader in pottery ????

Re: Possible Peter Lowry Sauce Bottle
Sharon Beach has told me that Dan Steenstra went to work for Peter Lowry. I have yet to work out the dates. But the work we are attributing to Peter Lowry is from his business but most likely executed by Steenstra. I am still trying to get some clarity over this... but that's the basic info.

Re: Possible Peter Lowry Sauce Bottle
Exciting stuff!
I have tried several times to get a better pic of the glaze but its just too glossy.
The shape is right for DS but I am abit concerned about the weight of this vase..
it is 1.6kg..bit more solid than the refined Vases he made at CL..but maybe fashion played a part in that... and I guess if you intend to carve the surface you would make the body thicker..
