Omg Mike that is drop dead gorgeous. You must have earned this in some way. It would cost a bundle in our world. I'm extremely happy for you and hope that one day I can find a Carpay in an opshop. I've heard Val say many times that this is one of her dream finds. Cheers

Re: Op Shop This morning..very lucky!!!
Thanks very much.... the staff said it was $45 because it was Crown Lynn and quite large. I didn't argue. It had been in the front cabinet for 5 or 6 days and no one had asked to get it out the counter staff said. Quite a few people must have looked at it as it is a very busy shop. Still cant believe my luck. It is in pristine order as well.

Mike, George says he will give you $46 for it.... I am SO impressed that you found this. As Ev said I have been joking for years about finding a Frank Carpay vase. No luck so far....

Re: Op Shop This morning..very lucky!!!
So, can we speculate as to the value of this beautiful vase?
There was a very uninteresting Carpay dish on TradeMe that closed today and didn't reach the reserve of $500.00. Which would make this vase worth much more than that.
Please tell your family about this pot Mike or it may end up in an Opshop again one day because of ignorance. I heard that Daniel Steenstra made all of the pots for Carpay to decorate .... *sigh* yes I have to admit to being very envious too

Re: Op Shop This morning..very lucky!!!
I do worry about what will happen to all my "stuff" once I have departed this mortal coil. I have spent many years collecting and have amassed too much so that at various times my house has resembled a hoarders and my children when they return home shake their heads. This is probably reinforced by years of stopping at at antique and second hand shops when they were young. However of late the youngest will willingly accompany me on op shopping expeditions and keeps an eye out for Crown Lynn, Royal Oak etc on his travels. One of the others has already asked if I will leave them this vase in my will so I guess they are learning to appreciate it as well.
