Re: Guess who made me?
High fired stoneware by a competent potter .... tick.
I don't recognise the quirky knob though.
Just a long shot, but my guess is Ian Firth ..... but I'm not very sure about that.

Re: Guess who made me?
With the little cupola on top of the knob - Andrew van der Putten? Although osmannz (Trademe) said once that Coromandel friends like Paul Tobin and Nicolas Straten? (I've got the surname wrong here) use to play games replicating each others' styles and idiosyncrasies; I'm not sure I would bet the farm on it being AP without a mark.

Re: Guess who made me?
I would say that you are 100% correct t&c. The shape pretty much says it's his work. I've only ever noticed one other potter that made that nipple knob and it was Warren Tippett, but the pot doesn't speak his name to me. Andrew would know of course, as all pots one makes are like babies and forever recognizable. Nick Strather do you mean? I'm never sure of the spelling and he goes by another name as well.
Re: Guess who made me?
Yes I think its Andrew as it is glazed like this jug of Ev's..with his cross with four spots ..

Re: Guess who made me?
Yes, Nick Strather sounds better. It looks good for AP. Osmannz is the connoisseur of these pots though, so if you could show him he many well be able to tell you one way or the other.

Re: Guess who made me?
I've seen too many blatant errors from osmannz on Trade Me to take him seriously and his arrogance matches my own so we can't even agree to differ when I point out his mistakes Was Greg a potter or a collector? I went to his place of trade in Paeroa several years ago, but I see he has moved to the deep south now.

Re: Guess who made me?
Andrew worked for Len in the later 1960's and learnt a lot from him in that time, so it's understandable that there are similarities in their work.
