Exquisite Crown Lynn Experimental Vase
From the collection of Manos - this is really lovely...it has "NZ" scribed on the base and is an experimental piece.

Experimental Crown Lynn Vase
I purchased this vase at an auction. Before I bought the vase, I had a discussion with other very knowledgeable Crown Lynn and New Zealand pottery expert collectors. They shared the same opinion; that the vase was an experimental Crown Lynn piece. The reason it does not have a number is that it had never been put into production, so there was not a need to put a number on it. Probably, it is a one-off piece. It has been glazed with Crown Lynn colours glaze, and has also been hand decorated. Now, the reason for it being rough on the bottom, is that presumably the glaze has run down and the vase has stuck. They then have to break the glaze around the vase to release it. It is very obvious, when you see it close up, what has happened. It has never been ground down, and has never been repaired. It is exactly the way it came out of the oven. It is a genuine piece and any queries are welcome.
If someone wishes to view thie vase, this can easily be arranged.
Personally, I have 100% belief in what I have said in this statement and i am very proud to have such a piece in my collection.
Regards, Manos.
