Musings
In the absence of anything good to say about this mug I thought I might have a look at its provenance.
The montage at left shows various pairs of mugs, Titian (and Crown Lynn) left and Orzel right.
Top pair shows a mug marked Titian and a matching shape from Orzel.
Second pair is an attempt to match a marked Titian with an Orzel. The main body is a match in size but upstand and handle differ.
Third pair looked good when I was comparing photos as the proportions match but when I found my CL1109 (same shape as Titian 523) I realised they were different sizes.
Bottom pic shows a CL 3064 monster mug with 3057 handle compared with the Orzel handle. Although this mug shape is from 1984 the 3057 handle dates from 26.6.81. The handles are the same shape and size but the Orzel one has been crudely fettled.

There is evidence of CL retaining Titian shapes, the 523/1109 above being one example (also 1110 Maori mug), and of Orzel using Titian shapes, top above, so I'm looking for further examples of mug shapes being reproduced by the Browns under a different brand name.

I think we have more Titian mug shapes to find, beyond those on the forum and in viewable museum collections, and I expect to see further Orzel mugs beyond the 20+ on the forum so far. I do expect to find more re-productions, one day.
