3620??? (and maybe 3621???)
Could this be it?
3620 13.1.71 Mug with D Block Handle
Vitrified.
NB See also 3032 for comparison.
I thought perhaps the 3621 "3620 without handle" 4.2.72 shape may be this one:
which I have always thought to be the penpot/bathroom tumbler shape. Can't remember if we found a number for that one.
This measures 81mm OD top x 84 high so perhaps the proportions are wrong. I'm pretty sure it is vitrified.

haselnuss, could we have some measurements please.
And can you confirm that it is not castware?
(Dimples on inside where handle connects indicates castware.)

Re: Have we got this cup shape? This is shape 3620 and also 3621
I'm still a bit iffy about the "3621" and would like to see the measurements for the 3620 from haselnuss. Janice's earthenware 3032 is bound to be a different size simply because it is e/w.
It can be tricky matching shapes like this when different lenses, angles, etc can make things look so different. haselnuss' mug looks tapered and taller than my beaker/mug/penpot, but the bases are a nice match.
Ev, I assume that as you have posted the picture for the 3621 that no other number appeared for the pen pots.
haselnuss, I'm really enjoying your collection.

Re: Have we got this cup shape? This is shape 3620 and also 3621
I'm happy with the shape Jeremy as it looks the same as the 3020 to my potters eyes. Janice had posted on the descriptions to say that 3621 was made in white as well as other vitrified colours and the 3620 was only made in white.

To help Jeremy, could haselnuss [the 3620 above] and Janice [the 3032] please add the dimensions for their cups please?

Hello Ev and Jeremy, The cup has no dimples inside and the handles have been added on to the outside. The cup is super vitrified ware 72. The cup is tapered.
It is 8.5cm high the diameter at the bottom is 7.5cm and at the top is 8.3cm.

Bathroom tumbler penpot pen
Ev, haselnuss,
I have checked my bottom measurement and yes it is also 75. For the other measurements I totally accept the variations as normal, as evidenced by numerous examples of the 3621 at Portage. Thanks for that. Good info.

Regarding your questions about this shape and the Pen Pot Jeremy ...
No I haven't come across a number that would fit that shape, but we don't have the last 5 years of the company's records and hopefully the Portage Museum has them and we can get some more info when they open, as this may be among them.

regarding measurements ... I can't get to anything ATM as everything is boxed up, I do recall though it being like the pen pot in size. which fits the conclusions that have been made ....jeremy wrote:Janice's earthenware 3032 is bound to be a different size simply because it is e/w.

Re: Have we got this cup shape? This is shape 3620 and also 3621
A friend of mine gave me some of her finds while on tiki tour around the South Island today and one item intrigues me a bit. It looks just like the 3620 mug shape above. It has the impressed New Zealand on bottom but otherwise it is chocolate brown sides and bottom. The inside of the cup is white but a greyish white. It sounds vitrified but the cup is a lot thinner than most vitrified cups I have seen. Any clues anyone? I will attempt to photograph it tomorrow in a decent light.
