I picked up another piece of the brown and orange unknown maker ware recently. It is as with a few other pieces I have it is an identical glaze match with 2 Beach Nz marked mugs I have. This little pot is only 90 mm high. It also has a glaze and lid shape match for the tea container shown earlier in the post. It has that dry, flat and yellowy base.

Mike I hope you and your collection are ok after the floods. Commiserations to your lovely city.
ANYWAY... Is this pot hand thrown? And does it have any trace of that koru whorl on the inside of the lid?

Thanks Val. I was sweating for a few days as I had just moved some stuff aka pottery down to some storage I have on Taupo Quay which did go underwater. All ok though others not so lucky.. My street was under water at both ends and we were trapped in the middle for a few days but water didn't get to us. No phone or internet yet so learnt quickly how to set up a mobile hot spot.
I am sure the little lidded pot is hand potted but not sure about the sworl. I will drag it out and let you know.
