The Retro Fair at Alexandra Park Auckland November 2014
I've never seen so much Crown Lynn in one place!! It was everywhere and I managed to find only one new dinnerware pattern - Blossom d??? .
I got the sweetest little jug ever from sueellen - a darling tiny 828.
Also got to meet sid and I could have talked pottery with him all day. He was very generous and I came away with 2 x Bora Bora plates, a Landscape dinner plate and a gorgeous Mike O'Donnell plate for very little outlay. Most appreciated sid thank you.
I got an orange hand thrown vase and a salt and pepper from that range with the piped on names ......
I met retroexpo and he is sending a photo of that kitchenalia Kelston Ceramics pattern. He had a massive big Royal Oak Casserole in the lava drip glaze that he happily pointed out to me hahaa ....
Glory Days the Vintage magazine were there so I got a copy of the issue with Billy Apple and Val Monk in it. Wow that mag is a blast from the past and yes I had a Dinah Lee haircut many moons ago too
So many women were dressed in retro clothes and they looked fantastic even with the tell tale signs of stiffened petticoats from the 1950's.
All in all it was highly entertaining and a great way to spend a Sunday.
