Orzel Platter...
Today I went to one of our local hospice shops and found this for Mike67 for a whopping $3 - its an interesting piece. Initially I thought it was Temuka but when I turned it over I found two marks the one on the left reads TEA? THERMIC WARE PAT 2142?8 and the one on the right reads ORZEL 112 - (The ? mean I cannot make out letter or number).
The platter is slightly curved up toward middle and is 32 x 23cms with 4 little ball feet that make it sit up about 2.5cms. The middle of glaze is very smooth but the outside edges very rough and grainy.
Can anyone tell me anything about this or the history or the other marks on it????
Hope you like Mike67 Its a really tasty piece - am still deciding whether or not to keep it!

Re: Orzel Platter...
Bravo for posting pics
This is a microwave browning dish made around 1990/92 .....
for a firm called Teri Thermic [info courtesy of Gail Henry] p.161 and 173.
I've come across a few of these lately.

Thanks Ev - yes posting picture mission impossible accomplished! Think I have it sussed now... But we will see.
Thank you for the info I have had a look in Gail's book. I had only ever seen the lattice orzel, coffee cups or various canisters, so was surprised to see this piece.
Mike67 already tells me I am not allowed to snavel it as "it does not match any of my other collecting" hmmmmm
