Orzel made many different shapes of beer mug, decorated with a variety of club monograms, special events details, and current and historic beer labels.

While I was chatting with Brian Ronson in the weekend he happened to spy this mug or another like it on the iPad.

Brian told me that in Wellington in 1978 he was approached about using his historic beer bottle label collection on a range of mugs. Payment was to be one mug with each label, but that didn't happen!

So, when you see one like this, with a historic label, the artwork will be from Brian's collection. He later said maybe 1979, but that is of no consequence: it puts a date on this range, which is good new info.

Eds. I see from the gallery some were made as Adelaar. It's always tricky with these Adelaar, Aquila, and Orzel shapes when they don't have a clear basemark or sticker.

Next day. So, these were marketed under all three names. Aquila one for sale:
