Small straw coloured Ambrico Potty, Chamber Pot
After a bit of a fiasco on trademe this morning I felt in need of retail therapy.
Rainbows Relics (Clyde Street Whangarei) are having a 30% off sale for glass and crockery. Ian said sure it applies to the potty!
As the only picture of this shape on the forum is Manos' triple-glazed one I thought we could do with an ordinary clear-glazed one.
straw-coloured clay, 11cm H x 19.5 OD, 1943-50 backstamp, all-over fine crazing
This appears to be a bit different from the one shown on page 113 of Val's Collectors Guide (less curve at bottom edge) but that may be in the photography, and the size depends on whether Val was measuring OD or width including handle.
The base is a bit different too with less sloped area inside the foot ring.
I think I was lucky to get one with a mark, even if it is blurred, as Val's one and hon-john's one on trademe do not, but then again maybe that means theirs are ealier!
Later ...
I think this is quite a small one. So it is a new shape, albeit shape without number.
I have compared it with the one hon-John is selling and it looks quite different:

I have asked John about the size to double check.
Also, Ev has described Manos' one as "large size":
