This jar is already on the site, but this one still has the 'sieve' inside the lid. I am pretty sure it is a dripping jar, you see lots around but a while ago I finally found a complete example with a reasonable price tag. Now I believe I can attribute it to Benhar... yay! Mine is about 20cm high including lid.

This pic shows the ceramic sieve inside the lid.

Now I have to find a sleeve for mine!!
Wondering how the ceramic sleeve sits on this or does it go down to rest on the bottom. The internal rim might look wider on yours.

Mine has quite a pronounced lip that the sieve sits on, it can't drop below that lip. I wonder if they made kitchen storage jars in the same shape - maybe not all are dripping jars?

Ok here is a photo of mine...I think it is the same. A demitasse saucer sort of sits in place without dropping down.

Looks like mine has an extra step Mike. Below the lip, mine has a shelf for the lid to sit on, then another shelf below that for the strainer to sit on. Interesting.

Found amongst my late sisters effects, I knew exactly what it was though it's much larger than I expected.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
