That is fantastic to know. I do wonder if that knowledge will entice me to buy any more. Probably will.

It would be interesting to know when this half-glazed crofter ware was made. To my taste it is quite seriously clunky and ugly and I can't imagine ever choosing to buy it, but there is a lot of it around so it must have been popular at the time. Does anyone have any thoughts on a date? I don't even know when mcskimmings closed. (Tho I am sure if I asked mr google he would tell me).

Regarding salt pigs. I bought a small one last week that also had a pottery spoon with it in the same glaze as the pig. Does anyone else know for sure if the spoons were made by Benhar?

I have several salt pigs with the spoon and I am very sure it is the same glaze on the spoons as on the pigs.

I can't say for sure, but I think that this salt pig on the left is also MckSkimmings - a nice pale glaze on the base and a paler brown on the top. The one on the right has a crofter ware stamp - a new stamp for my collection.
