I spy some Carrick Oliver pieces

Yes, I've seen it before and probably have it too.  Many want to know who this mystery potter is as they were very capable and made really nice wares.

So next we have a pair of little dishes, with an evocative kowhai motif:



and a neat little mark that I'm hoping I have the right way up: 

I believe this to be an early Barry Doyle piece, with his pre 1986 mark:

The top bowl looks like it might be Smisek c. 1960-62. Check the outside surface of the bowl in the area just above where the base starts to evert. You will be looking for an "MS" mark.

Thanks T&C!    That bowl just jumped out at me when I saw it (In a second hand shop in Taihape for only a dollar or two) had a feeling I'd seen it somewhere before. 
After thorough searching of bowl, I had just given up on there being a mark when I spied a faint "M" shape buried under the thick glaze.

stamped West Ridge Pottery Taupo - location makes sense too since I picked this up in Taihape

I was perusing the 'G' section of NZ potters.com (looking for an entirely different mark) and noticed the striking similarity of this mark to the marks posted for Jim Greig:

My word you could very well be right Cat !!
His work is very hard to find and is very collectable.
Lucky Cat for finding that piece and lucky Cat for working out his mark !!

I didn't know anything about him until I did a little research tonight, after looking at the marks page, I guess as his work is hard to find, it's not a name that crops up too often.

I paid $1.50 for this at the local op-shop
