Could this large vase be Crown Lynn?? Not Crown Lynn as it was made at Timaru Potteries.
Could this be CL. No marks other than a roughly inscribed 88 on base. Buff/bone colour. Lathed ridge at the start of the neck. I can feel the potters rings inside which is glazed.

which makes me think that your pot is made by another company.

I have a picture in my Timaru pottery book which looks exactly like this vase. It shows an unglazed one. Apparently they used two clays, A softer Kakahu or a Mt Somers stronger clay. Timaru pottery examples are on a website for South Canterbury Museum, you may be able to see one to compare.

I forgot to add, the book says that these vases were mostly glazed on the inside only. Hope that this info helps.
