New Forma Cup ....
Would this be the 3048?
Its 5mm taller, has this wide chunky handle & base has no inner ring.

Re: New Forma Cup ....
Well that is certainly different.
l will wait for Janice to check it out first, as there is no indication as to what the difference is. I've picked up so many Forma cups thinking that they are different, but they have been the same.

Hi- yes, I have bought an orange one on TM ! in my pile of photos to do! - it seems to be similar in shape but a fatter handle and a different foot ring- I thought straight away that it is the "new forma shape"

Could it be this simple?
Are we looking for something obvious in seeking a distinction between the 3027 and 3048 Forma cups when the difference may be more subtle?
In my rag-tag collection of stray cups I have but two in the Forma shape. As I was attempting to tidy them up I thought about this topic.
Although their diameters both top and bottom are the same, the two have a height difference of 1.5-2 mm, which could probably be allowed as a standard variation between batches etc, however the difference in handle sizes is in the 3-4 mm range.
The handle on the white cup starts lower down and ends higher up than the one on the brown and yellow cup. Because the handle rolls back on itself like a hairpin that difference as measured in the length of the clay forming the handle is doubled to something like 7 mm: it contains a lot more clay. See pictures.
If it is indeed the case that these are two different shape numbers, then the patterns and their respective dates will determine which is which.

Re: New Forma Cup ....
Thanks Jeremy, I would like Janice to give her opinion about this shape please
Re: New Forma Cup ....
I too have seen very slight differences with those forma cups, both in height and the position of the handle.
Since all jugs seem to have the shape number, I think we should look for the **6057 New Forma Cream Jug** then the cup shape will follow, as Kat & Co suggested on a previous comment.
However working on Jeremy's theory, should we all check out forma jugs to make sure it is a 6032 and not 6057 ?

Possible New Forma Saucer?
Where does this saucer fit in? or is it the mate to Janpots orange soup mug above?
16.3cmd so bigger than the 14.6cm Forma Saucer its pictured with.
It looks very Forma but it doesnt sit completely flat like forma shape,
it stands on its foot rim.

Re: New Forma Cup ....
This looks like the shape of a forma "sand" one that I left at Ev's place. Is it sort of angular curved on its base? and bigger than normal?

Re: New Forma Cup ....
Hahaa no it isn't but I came across this pic while looking for the clover one. I'm not even sure where this pic came from so I will try to find the clover one and replace it.
Clover is a glaze name and has the d number 132 if I remember correctly....

Re: New Forma Cup ....
Janice's 'Clover' saucer fits this 'Clover' cup with orangey bands perfectly.
Clover is the background glaze on many patterns e.g. Herald and has a warm speckle to it.
The saucer has a Made In New Zealand stamp from the 1970's according to Val Monk.

Re: New Forma Cup ....
I just noticed that your saucer is Paprika d083 !!!!
This is in the Forma shape, as I have a bowl and Marl has a plate on the site ....
I thought your one was Pioneer. Now I'm wondering ...... what am I wondering?
How can I find out or prove my wondering theory?
