Perhaps a line of production was interrupted by a special order and the numbers have been allocated to obscure pieces we have yet to identify??

...and in further support of that thought, I have the 208 ashtrays, which are both inscribed with business names..I wonder if the yellow commemorative mugs would have been in that number line too (1953). Because they were special orders maybe they were treated a little differently in the process and many remained un-numbered...
