and I've heard say that Temuka made it but have nothing to confirm this!
Though the glaze looks very Temukaish to me from here

Re: Who made the string mouse then?
That glaze practically screams 'Temuka' to me, but I don't know all the ins and outs of the various potteries.
This brings back memories - I don't know who, but someone I knew as a child must have had one of these

I think that might make a nice early Birthday present - we actually could do with a string dispenser!

Here's a very similar one on Ebay - note how much more defined the word and string decoration is... almost looks like this one could have been used to make a mould for the NZ one...

Mushroom defuser
I have always wondered that who ever made the string mouse may have made these 'Shrooms' as well... but this glaze to me looks like Mapua or Richmond Potteries aye?..

Re: Who made the string mouse then?
I saw the writing and the glaze and thought Clay Craft at first but noted the black stamp and gave that idea away.
Black stamps like that generally do indicate Temuka, don't they, so often worn away in part or not completely formed like this one.

Re: Who made the string mouse then?
Yes, it's a candle holder - this one has been around since at least the early 70s as I can remember it being used at all our birthdays when we were little, but not sure when mum actually acquired it - it looks 60s-70s anyway

Re: Who made the string mouse then?
I have a string mouse, have been meaning to put it on the site as Temuka, but haven't done so, and now we're off away for a week so I don't have the time till we get back! They are very cute tho I have never used mine for the intended purpose.

Re: Who made the string mouse then?
I haven't seen one of those before, what a cutie! I have a soft spot for owls (even if my ex does collect them). I'll ask if it's got any marking on it.
