Re: Pic's of Jim's Collection
Is that a Doris Bird ribbon lustred jug hiding at the back of the others?
Re: Pic's of Jim's Collection
Yes I did wonder if youd notice, it has quite alot of wear to gold, so lives hidden..
Can take a pic next time if youd like to see it.

Re: Pic's of Jim's Collection
There is quite a list of Ringed Basins which are commonly called Beehive Bowls in the records and we don't have anyone adding them to the site yet. I notice that Jim has some and would appreciate photos for the Gallery please. Look at 5031 to 5036 or the old numbers which started at 706/1 through to 706/6. Why can't I find any measurements? I do have a list of measurements from listings on TM somewhere which may help ....?
Re: Pic's of Jim's Collection
We did look at them last time for numbers, even his white ones & there were none with four digits. I will get pics & measurements of the banded ones soon..

Beehive Bowls
Re Beehives: I have two sets of four in two houses, up to about 7 or 8 inch.
Various stamps. Collected by Dad.
(I can't measure at the moment as there is a cat on top of me.)
Also, at Auckland, a large plain bowl that I used for mixing the Christmas cake when I was a boy.

Re: Pic's of Jim's Collection
What a fantastic collection !! Pleased to meet you Jim after all this time
There is a cup that I spy in the vitrified cups .... right in the middle that makes me think it may be an 832 E/W Breakfast Cup. One day I would really like to see a close up of that one Thanks for sharing these with us Kat xxx

Re: Pic's of Jim's Collection
I spent hours on Monday trying to squeeze more Crown Lynn onto my shelves to clear my pottery table and I'm really envious of Jim's display shelves.
The cup on the left of the one in the middle is interesting me too ... the shape rings bells.

Jim's swan display updated
Spotted Jim at Hospice shop yesterday. He told me he had a surprise for next visit, clue: "black". Jim's surprise was blown a few minutes later when I saw Bruce Sowry, a mutual friend from Antiques Club, at the Sallies. Bruce visited Jim last week and was impressed with his shelf of swans. Only missing a black one Jim had mused.
Jim's collection is constantly enhanced by finds from his daughters. When daughter Linda was delivering some furniture from, I think, a trademe sale she bumped a table or somesuch nearly knocking over, you guessed it, a Crown Lynn black swan. Linda offered exchange for the furniture and no money changed hands. Everyone parted happy.
