Hoodwinkled by gollum ...
I thought it was Xmas at the Retro Fair to find this teeny weeny cup!
It was with all of the Crown Lynn and half the price of another that I saw in a navy blue colour. I didn't check the base ..... heh I just flashed the $$ and made it mine!! Greedy like Gollum, so it serves me right to get this surprise that was on the base .....
It probably reads 666 of course, but I prefer the 999
There is no way that it is Crown Lynn with those numbers on it ........*sighs*
But it looks good with my other cups and gives me an idea of what those little sweeties look like.

Ev are these stamped numbers (ie inked on rather than impressed?) if so it could well be CL.

Yes they are inked numbers ..... like the old Salisbury stamped numbers.
But still, nothing relates to these numbers whereas the Salisbury numbers almost always match up with the old records.

Here's my little IGA-style saucer with its numbers - Pete from Thames told me that he often used to come across ware in this size with odd little numbers. No idea why. And I can't remember whether he referred to saucers or cups or both... sorry.

Oh wow, thanks for that as I haven't seen anything like these stamped numbers on crockery before. It gives me some hope
