Different Glazes on Crown Lynn Four Digit Mugs (titianware etc)
Val's famous Honey-Glaze Mugs.
Part of the fun of collecting 4-digit mugs is seeing that they did not just come in honey glaze finish.
I'm posting one pic to start here but hope to add more and hope others do too.
At a guess I'd say the mug that has been made in the greatest variety of glazes is the 1222.
I see a lot of sets and part-sets with 1222s. Mine is honey with frosting.
At the Hospice Shop in Kawakawa today I saw a 1242 in a glaze I hadn't seen before so I paid my dollar. It's not as though I needed another 1242!
The middle mug is the new one, right is, I think, a standard honey glaze and left is a bit dribbled.
More to come.
Correction. I dug deeper in my box. I think the one below is standard honey glaze.
You may need to zoom the top photo to see how different they are.

more glazes
On some of my 4 digit duplicates the glaze variations are subtle, like these 1241s:
and these 1357s:
My original 1209, in the honey glaze was chipped by the seller at Avondale.
Its replacement is dramatically different:
Moreso the two Snowflake mugs, 1111.
When I saw that green one on trademe I had to have it:
I photographed what I thought was my only 1222, then when I noticed there were two more on the window cill there wasn't enough light left so here it is alone. As I said above, I think this may be the one with the greatest variation in glazes. I see so many alone or in sets on trademe and regularly in the op shops.

That's why I had to have it. You've got to wonder what other colours they used.
You spend too much time getting bargains at markets and not enough supporting our post and couriers with trademe!
You must have tons of variants for this topic.
Let's see some.

tortoiseshell?
I have seen a bit of this tortoiseshell-looking glaze on trademe items over the past few months.
Fortunately I found a piece at Avondale a couple of weeks ago.
1328 New "Squares" Coffee Mugs in honey glaze and "tortoiseshell".
