Re: Tom Clark limited edition mug is shape 1397
Manos tells me this mug was specialy produced by Crown Lynn potteries to commemorate the retirement of Mr Tom Clark as managing director of Ceramco.
It was presented to guests at a function in his honour, hosted by the ceramics group.
This one is number 53 in a limited edition of 160.

Looks like a 1244 with a different handle.
Reminds me that when I was last at Tricia's her sister was visiting.
A former neighbour of Tom Clarke, she said he used to give them specials at Christmas, I think it was. I guess I should follow this up some time.

Ev has Portage said anything to you about whether some or all of the actual objects are going to go on display anywhere at any time? I Haven't heard any more about a museum for some time but maybe an exhibition?

Yes they said that they hoped to have the Museum open to the public in March next year. I have many things to check out and Price Lists to view etc etc and I am looking forward to seeing it all.

I guess until they make an official announcement we won't really know how they will involve the public. Now that we are all under the Super City umbrella, things take time, but after all these years at last something is happening.
CL/Titian steins and Clark invitation
Titian produced many beer mug shapes for Crown Lynn. Such shapes can be described by various names such as tankard and stein. There are four that I would call steins.
I had decided not to bother with buying the steins (for my CL castware mugs collection), until Val's garage sale, where she sold me the 1225 and 1487 for a very painless price. Then the 1244 turned up in an opshop last weekend, leaving just the one shape to get. I could have completed the set spending just one more dollar (plus postage) for a 1397 the same day as the auction for the limited edition one but I held out for it, and paid handsomely for that decision.

1225 (129mmH), 1244 (100mmH), 1397 (147mmH), 1487 (112mmH)

Here's the invite that came with it.
I will need to press it to make better photos.
There is some pencil writing on the back: it's some work to read it.
