The Portage Ceramics Exhibition 2013
This is New Zealand's best pottery show of the year and is keenly looked forward to. The fact that nearly half of the show was complete rubbish irks me no end, but there were enough pieces there to make my heart sing with their pure creativity and craftsmanship!
Here are some of my favourites to share with those that were unable to get to it. Though it looks like a large part of the show will be sent around the country.
This Mountain with Snow piece made by Sangsool Shim & Keumsun Lee is magnificent and it's huge!
These two massive pieces were decorated in the most brilliant way by Kim Henderson and they got a Merit Award!
Greg Barron's work always makes me swoon !! Pure magic !!
Check out this Dawn Chorus of Huia by Kirsty Gardiner! Her work is brilliant !!
John Parker is always professional perfection at it's best. This time he acknowledged Ernie, Keith and Ewald. Now I have to find out about Ewald!
Katie Gold's Wall Brooches were fabulous -
Suzy Dunser's work is exceptional as usual -
Carol Robinson's Pods and Husks were simply exquisite!
