Re: Daniel Steenstra Vases x 2
Hi sunny, do you have any idea if that 4 is the handpotted shape 4 ?
I've tried google, but haven't found anything yet ....

Re: Daniel Steenstra Vases x 2
I'm not sure Ev, and as this is the only one of these vases I have, I don't know if the other shapes had numbers which pertained to this style, and not necessarily to the hand potted numbers. I wonder if anyone has one of these with the triangle dots in a different shape could let us know what number is on theirs, and if it matches a shape in the hand potted gallery.

Re: Daniel Steenstra Vases x 2
There is another listed at the moment, a number 3, and as it is a totally different shape to the #3 in the hand potted gallery, I would assume it is a numbering system for these vases http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=629481387

Re: Daniel Steenstra Vases x 2
Talking about the deep green vases with the white dots to a trader at the Antique Fair yesterday, as he had three of these and he told me that there are 8 different shapes and that they are all the same height.
Re: Daniel Steenstra Vases x 2
That's very interesting Ev, thanks for the information. I wonder if they are then numbered from 1 -8?

Re: Daniel Steenstra Vases x 2
Yes that's correct and it would be great to identify those 8 shapes wouldn't it?
Re: Daniel Steenstra Vases x 2
I have also noticed that the different vases have a different amount of dots to the triangle. For example, the number 4 in the artist craftsman gallery has 10 dots, and the other has 15 dots http://newzealandpottery.forumotion.net/gallery/Crown-Lynn-s-Artist-Craftsmen/Crown-Lynn-s-Artist-Craftsmen-cat_c28.htm

Re: Daniel Steenstra Vases x 2
This one is numbered '1', and has a label that says it was put on the shop shelf in September 1955.
Sorry for the poor image of the base mark. It definitely says "Crown Lynn No. 1".

Hi Anne, Could you please check the number on the base of the dotty green vase, as Peter Jack has one and it has No 2 on it. Cheers Ev

Re: Daniel Steenstra Vases x 2
Yes I agree and will alter the Gallery info.
Peter also has a No 6 but not in the green, it has stripes, but the same writing on the base with No.6.
This writing must be Daniel Streensta's and I've seen it on various things.
