So is this a Crown Lynn deer?

Another CB with the number 16 incised green pottery piece.
This time a 40cm long fish that might have been copied from Blue Mountain.

It is not a Hobby piece. I think it could have been made by Cam Brown and the 16 might be the mold number. Any thoughts?

Sounds good to me & isn't it amazing it hasnt broken 40cm is big.

I've added the fish to the Aquila Gallery with question marks and I hope we see another that has a label one day to confirm your findings haselnuss.

I'll keep looking for one with an Aquila sticker. I am very happy that it didn't break in the post and carefully cleaned it to then place it at the back of my green shelf just in case we have an earthquake.

Saw this Blue Mountain Deer today and it's a similar shape to the one at the beginning of this topic, except that it is facing the other way and it is smaller than mine.
It has been slipcast with red clay, like those retro lamp shades !!
The ears are placed differently and .... there is no outer 'skirt'.
Perhaps a Kiwi copied these?

Is the little blue-green vase pictured with the fawn back in August Crown Lynn? I saw one in an op shop today but can't remember if it had any numbers.

I am working on my notes for Terra Ceramics and I rediscovered this email from Ernie Cooper (co-founder of Terra Ceramics) which I thought might shed some light on this thread.  A couple of years ago I sent Ernie the link to this thread and asked if he could help.  I think I have mentioned this elsewhere on the site but below is a cut-and paste of what Ernie sent me. Also note his second paragraph:

Time to let you into a little secret! Most of the Terra product range was sold through John Denton Ltd an importer and distributor of ceramics and other giftware based in Parnell. I'm not sure if he was the importer of Blue Mountain but he gave me a piece together with a brochure from the company and asked me to copy the glaze. I did this quite successfully and a lot of our artware (ie Terra - note from Val) was produced with the black glaze and an over glaze containing tin and copper. The first batch that came out of the kiln was absolutely perfect and it included a lot of Hobby ceramic shapes from Furnace Engineering, including some vases. It is easy to pick the Terra & BM  as BM had the red terracotta body. The glaze proved to be a bit temperamental some pieces were almost identical to BM and others were not as vibrant. We did not use lustre which is a separate low-temperature firing technique.

Furnace engineering were heavily into hobby ceramics and as they were co-owners of Terra Ceramics with me we freely exchanged moulds and glaze recipes. So you will find pieces decorated with traditional Terra honey glaze (and) the same pieces decorated with outlandish hobby ceramic glazes.  Note here Ernie is talking about John and Sandra Homer who had an extensive Hobby Ceramics business as well as being co-owners of Terra with Ernie.
