Is this vase NZ pottery - yes it's made by Pam Edwards
Bought this vase last year as a part of a $1.00 bulk auction from trade me. There was no identifying information given about the vases. One of the other vases has made in Italy on the base. I kept this vase as the glaze has a warmth that I do not normally associated with the colour blue.

It looks a little like Pattee Lloyd, but I can't be sure, as I am not familiar with her work.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have very little idea about NZ pottery.

I wasn't sure about this, because it looks more like Pam Edwards from the Manawatu, now that I looks closer. Does anyone else agree?

I had a piece with that same mark (I think) found in Manawatu, but I can't compare now as I donated it to the op-shop the other day as the handle on the jug kept annoying me (had a thick oddly shaped bit on it) every time I looked at it. It was also blue, but a more opaque duller grey/blue than that brilliant turquoise. I think I posted photo on the site though, so will see if I can find it.
Found it: http://newzealandpottery.forumotion.net/t2723-small-blue-jug
I note the P on my blue jug has a more rounded loop.

I'm not sure about your mark either Cat, in the Potters marks book and on the website, http://www.nzpotters.com/PottersMarks/PottersMark_Image.cfm?potterID=355 , the bottom of the P from Pattee Llotd is not straight, but is in the book for Pam Edwards. Maybe Ev, can help?

Thank you sunny as I hadn't noticed Pam Edward's mark before.....
and it's a perfect match with it's squarish P
I will give the mark a makers name now

I remember Pam Edwards from square edge
I remember Pam's work being displayed in the square edge collective potter shop in Palmerston north. I am delighted to know that I own a Pam Edwards vase! The colour of the Glaze is amazing.
