Auckland Museum Crown Lynn Archives 13th May 2013
As I had to go into Auckland to pick up a camera that can't be repaired, I thought it was an opportunity to go to the Museum to do some more research.
I checked out these items:-
Overseas Crockery 1963 - 1970
Price Lists 1961 - 1968
Price Lists 1981
Price Lists 1982
Price Lists 1986
I managed to gather heaps of shape info from the price lists which makes me excited.
Plus many other bits of interesting info which I will share when I get a chance.

Overseas Crockery 1963 - 1970 -
This is a record of all of the exported pottery that Crown Lynn sent between 1963 and 1970.
All have the ship name, the destination and the value recorded.
Every port in Australia, all of the Islands, also New Guinea and Norfolk Island.
Canada, Los Angeles, South Africa, plus some oddities like Bermuda - NZ Consul Athens Greece in 1964 and the NZ High Commissioner New Delhi India in 1970 - no charge.
Price Lists 1961 - 1968
There were so many shape numbers in these lists that I had to note them all down.
Some showed which cups went with what saucers and I will check them all out when I have time!
Pricing structures were different for the different processes used.
For example Mardi Gras and Fleurette had 60% added as they were hand painted.
In 1967 Black Capri 781 cups cost $1.73 whereas coloured Capri cost $1.66
Underglaze Litho/Silkscreen had it's own pricing structure, as did Underglaze Colour and M or M Print which was +222 and a half % [M or M being Malkin or Murray Curvex I'd guess]
There is mention of the High Society Range going to South Africa in 1968 -
Mandalay, Carousel, Sapphire and Roydon Harvest.
Price Lists 1981
This is what I was really after - lists of Patterns and all of the shapes used
Antique Rose d706 [Forma Shape]
Apollo d013 [Fluted Shape]
Autumn Splendour d690 [Coupe Shape] Aha at last the proper term!
Tropic D128 [Coupe Shape] This consisted of Cup 3019[833] Saucer 805 in popular tropical colours of Brown, Bronze, Tango Blue and Olive Green. [Looking for this now!]
Capri d362 [Coupe Shape] - colourglaze colours Olive Green, Bronze, Yellow and Teal.
Fragrance d374 [Coupe Shape] cup 3038, saucer 4029
Heritage 1800 d543 [Rim Shape] Cups 3056, saucer 4050 [This is a puzzler as we have d293 for Heritage I will work on it!]
Nursery Rhymes d988 [Coupe Shape]
Pioneer d677 [Forma Shape] Cups/sugar/cream/S&P a combination of Rustic Brown, Honey and White Speckled glaze.
Sorrento d093 [Forma Shape]
Plain White d012 [Coupe Shape]
Sapphire [Coupe Shape]
Springflower d820 [Rim Shape]
Sundowner d065 [Rim Shape] plus Sundowner Ovenware
Landscape d625 [Forma Shape]

Coffee Mugs -
Herb Garden deco Q08 shape 1314
Nile deco Q07 shape 1313
Parthenon deco Q06 shape 1312

More to come .....

One would think that with all of the mugs on the site we would already know what the leadlight mugs look like ...and the Leather Look mugs too, but we don't appear to have any.
Perhaps we will recognise them if we were to see any ?
Leather like?
I've always thought this mug was very tooled leather like, maybe its one of them?

Re: Auckland Museum Crown Lynn Archives 13th May 2013
Looking at the 1986 Specialty Coffee Mugs:
Kiwi Sports Mugs - Rugby, Cricket, Golf, Jogging
I saw this mug on Val Monk's blog -
http://valputaruru.blogspot.co.nz/2012/08/kiwiana-bliss.html
and thought now that could be from the Kiwi Sports Mugs series .....
So I wasted a lot of time on Google and found two more -
A Rugby one with the Kiwi wearing a black jersey and going for a try with a football.
A Golfing mug and the Kiwi has on a black and white striped scarf and is holding a golfing flag.
The Val Monk one must be the jogger, as both of the Kiwi are running.
Just looking for the Cricket Mug now ...... anyone?
Val Monk says that her jogging mug is signed by Evans and one of the other ones was signed Ryder ..... hmmmm
Not to be boring, but the shape number for these mugs is 3051 and yet they look exactly like the 3050 shape. My word this shape searching can be a crazy game It's like looking for camels hiding in haystacks ..... it's right there and I can't see it ARrrrgggghhhh Anyway I will dwell a while and wait for one of these mugs to turn up on the site. I've seen them and passed them by y'know

Leadlight Mugs !!!
Really delighted to find two of these today at an Antique Fair and instantly knew what they were.
I purchased the Leadlight Yacht - d84504
Took a photo of the Leadlight Butterfly - d84505
There is still the House and the Bird to find .......
These have the shape number 3051, yet look exactly like the 3050 the only difference is that these have a pattern on them ...... a bit of a puzzle really, but I just go by what the records tell me.
