Crown lynn electric jug
Hi there
I have a lovely coloured yellow electric jug with cord. How do I find out what the value of this item is. In perfect condition no cracks.
Thanks

Re: Crown lynn electric jug
Hi Karen, does it look like this one listed on Trade Me at the moment? http://www.trademe.co.nz/pottery-glass/porcelain-pottery/crown-lynn/jugs/auction-589844460.htm I think this one is a little expensive, but only my personal opinion. Does your look like this? If not, we would love to see a photo when you have time. Is yours marked on the base at all?

Crown Lynn electric jug pics
Hi there
Have attached photos of this electric jug. It is in perfect condition apart from a small hairline crack at top of jug. It is stamped Jug 785 .p.s.203 Made in New Zealand AC Only 240v 1500. Jug as cord as well.
Would be great to get an indicative price please as I am selling on behalf of my mum
Thank you

Re: Crown lynn electric jug
Thanks for the photos Karen, another shape I have not seen! May we add it to our gallery please, and could we get a photo of the base too as we like to have proof of origin as well? As for price, I am unsure, the one on TM at the moment is overpriced as I have said, and the only other similar item was this one http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=570367314 that went for $32.00 I think, and one on e-bay went for $46.00.
Perhaps Ev or someone else may have a better idea.

Pics of base
Hi there
i have posted two photos of the base. Just another question - where is the best place to try and get prices for Crown Lynn. My Mum has quite a few teasets that she wants to sell and I dont know where to get prices from. Would it be best to go to an antique store?
Thanks

Re: Crown lynn electric jug
Hi Tarvster, I think you should contact some of the big auction houses, eg. Webbs, Art & Object or Cordy's. Perhaps contact some Antique shops too, so you can get a good idea of value. One other option would be to list them on Trademe with a healthy reserve.

I am going to post the link to the other topic regarding electric jugs here, so they are linked together http://newzealandpottery.forumotion.net/t3275-crown-lynn-russell-hobbs-coffee-perk-electric-jugs#10455

Re: Crown lynn electric jug
Tarvster, can you please ask your Mother if she can recall a time frame for this jug?
It's quite different to the other electric jug shapes and it would be interesting to get a good idea of when it was made.
Also would anyone have any idea what the p.s.203 stands for on the base?

Hi there
I just spoke to my mum and she seems to think it would have been around 1951-52 as she brought it for her parents originally. Mum worked in the cafeteria for four years from 1950 to 1954. She would have purchased this during that time. Hope this helps
